The Public Safety Committee has adopted Pedestrian Safety as their primary focus. Enhancing the ability to walk to downtown destinations makes crosswalk and intersection safety a high priority. Advocacy for additional crosswalks, maintenance for sidewalks and an unfortunate death of a downtown resident, brought to light the need for new sidewalks as well. Working with the City on the N Candler St sidewalk connectivity to Kroger has been a long-term activity.
